Formed in 2001, Resonance is an a cappella CCA under the NUS Cultural Activities Club, made up of a bunch of people brought together by a common love for singing. We have up to 30 members (and many more alumni!) from diverse musical backgrounds, but we only perform in groups of 5 to 7 at any one time. Singing just about anything from contemporary pop to choral, alternative rock to swing, and even the occasional techno tune, we are always striving towards our goal of bringing a greater awareness of a cappella music to the NUS community and beyond.

Resonance is moving into its seventh year now, and has had many opportunities to perform at various on-campus functions, including bazaars, matriculation fairs and faculty events. We’ve also had the privilege of performing off-campus at shopping centres, libraries and hotels. In the past 2 years, we’ve caroled at CHIJMES, Junction 8, Thomson Plaza, MINDSville @ Napiri, The Chevrons, Shaw Towers, and even at the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Other off-campus performances include Sing It Like It Is on the Esplanade Waterfront and An Evening of Poetry and Music at Library@Orchard.

To date, our most satisfying achievements would be our stellar performance in the National A Cappella Championships 2006 and 2007, and our successful solo concerts, Vocal Obsession (2004) and Vocal Obsession II (2006). In the 2007 National A Cappella Championships, we emerged champions in the Senior College category and clinched the 1st runner-up position in the Open category.
